Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith

Don Stover was influenced by such top musicians as Earl Scruggs, Rudy Lyle, and Don Reno when he first began playing the banjo. He went on to become an accomplished member of the Lilly Brothers, the house band at Boston's Hillbilly Ranch from 1952 until 1970. This group was instrumental in acquainting the northeast with the wonders of bluegrass music. In November of 1994, this benefit show was held near Boston to both honor Stover and help him raise funds for an important cause. Such stars as Bill Keith, Jim Rooney, and Laurie Lewis all come together to share special stories about how Stover has touched their personal and professional lives before playing a few songs.
