This split-reel Lubin comedy was released nearly two years after it was made -- the studio was going out of business and apparently it was unloading a number of poorer-quality pictures that had been sitting on the shelves. Newspaper reporter Emile Scribbler (Jerold T. Hevener, who also directed) is assigned the task of locating a subversive group. He finds them after accidentally hitting Zola (Nellie Farron), the daughter of their leader, Markoff (Oliver Hardy), with his car. He goes home with Zola and the group tries to capture him. Emile escapes back to his apartment, but Markoff finds him and stuffs him in a box. The subversives come to get the box, but they wind up at the wrong apartment and instead take a box containing a mummy that belongs to Professor Foddletop (Billy Bowers). In search of his mummy, the Professor goes to Emile's apartment and finds him in the box. Meanwhile, the subversives are shooting at the box they believe holds Emile. Zola, who also believes he's in the box, jumps in front of it and is shot to death. Markoff goes to save his daughter, and he too is a victim of the gunshots. Emile and the Foddletop arrive and they are also shot and killed. After that, there is nothing left for the firing squad to do except shoot each other.
