Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This British-made production was shot on location in Scotland. After he returns from an African expedition, Donald MacLean (James Knight) is a changed man. He refuses to defend himself in any way from those who attack him. As a result he becomes known throughout the town as a coward. Donald's father, Colonel MacLean (Charles Rock), is thoroughly disgusted by his son's lack of character but he sees some hope when a Gypsy queen, Rilka (Marjorie Villis), stops with her band on his estate. Colonel MacLean becomes convinced that if Douglas marries the spirited girl, he might gain some backbone. They wed, in spite of the protests of Rovel (Bernard Dudley), a Gypsy who wanted Rilka for himself. Rovel is put in jail, but when he is released he takes Rilka away. Donald is too much of a coward to say anything about it and his frustrated father hits him with a club. This action brings back memories of the African natives who beat him into submission and Donald's bravery returns. He gives Rovel a sound thrashing and brings Rilka home.
