Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Gladys Leslie -- one of Mary Pickford's many rivals during the 1910s -- stars in this mountain romance. Emmy Chaney (Leslie) is a little mountain girl who falls in love with Ben Kirkland, a boy from the city who is on a camping trip (Alfred Kappeler). Her father, who violently hates city folk, is infuriated and chases Kirkland off at the point of a shotgun. Their ardor dampened not one bit, the couple head for his camp where a minister friend marries them. Back in the city, however, Emmy does not exactly impress her new in-laws -- her table manners are about what one would expect from a mountain girl. Because of the Kirklands' attitude, Emmy returns home only to find her father dead. Her husband comes looking for her, and because of a misunderstanding he is thrown in jail. Eventually it is proven that Kirkland had nothing to do with the old man's death and he just barely avoids hanging. A question about the legality of the wedding ceremony is also resolved and the couple are finally reunited.
