Synopsis by Nathan Southern

Despite the slightly misleading title, the Newsreel History of the Third Reich series of releases consists not of unbiased, objective documentary material on WWII events involving the Third Reich. Instead, the series presents compilations of propaganda footage shot by the Reich and originally used to mislead the German people into believing in the Reich's superiority and military victories. The footage in question was seized from Gestapo archives by the Russians and illustrates how Hitler "spun" the war to his people. Volume 16 in this series covers the last three months of 1943, with events including the formal education of the Hitler Youth, the Stuka blitz against Nevel, the bombing of the Volturno Sector on the Mediterranean front, the infamous tank battle at Krivog Rog, and much more.
