Synopsis by Nathan Southern
The Northern Italian region of Tyrol owns one of the most colorful and fascinating local histories in all of Europe. Part of Austria for many years, the territory is predominantly occupied by German speakers, though many of its residents speak Italian secondarily. Close at hand are the looming Dolomites and the Alps, while the country itself is both suited and exploited for the production of wine. This ambience-themed release leads viewers on a visual tour of this complex and intriguing area, while excerpts from four Concerti grossi by Georg Friedrich Handel play on the soundtrack.
