On condition that things remain strictly platonic, Denise (Lisa Bonet) agrees to go on a date with Dwayne (Kadeem Hardison). In a fit of euphoria, Dwayne purchases an expensive new suit--thus finding himself without a dime to pay for a fancy Japanese dinner. Meanwhile, in typical "all the eggs in a single basket" fashion, Whitley (Lisa Bonet)is certain that she will land a summer internship in New York. Though this episode was intended as A Different World's first-season finale, two "leftover" episodes were seen over the next two weeks.
