Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Peggy Ainslee (Marguerite Snow) is so intent on helping the poor that she breaks up with her fiancée, who objects to her trips to the slums. When her wealthy father has a dispute with Carter, a cotton planter, she travels South to investigate. After hanging around Carter's cotton mill, she discovers that her father was trying to corner the cotton market. She also falls in love with Carter's son after he saves her from the advances of the mill's foreman. Peggy decides that her father's machinations are wrong and rushes home. In her mad dash, she leaps from a car onto a train and makes it to New York in time to sell her shares of Consolidated Cotton, thus foiling her father's scheme.
