Synopsis by Elizabeth Smith
Instructor Tom Kolb demonstrates guitar techniques that were popular in the psychedelic 1960s. Sounds that were made famous by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Syd Barrett. Kolb shows viewers how to achieve effects like the wah-wah, fuzz, reverb, echo, tremolo, and phasing. Mesmerizing scales created by mixing Dorian, Mixolydian, and Phrygian modes with minor pentatonic, harmonic minor, and blues scales are explained. Kolb also demonstrates sitar licks, vibrato bar, bottleneck slides, and droning string licks.
