Synopsis by Mark Deming

Filmmaker Cyrus Amini invites us to witness a few nights in the life of a pair of street hustlers in this edgy independent drama. Marcus (Merlin Gaspers) is a blonde, good-looking man edging into his twenties who earns his living as a gay prostitute in San Francisco. Though Marcus also enjoys sex with women and he has an on-again, off-again girlfriend, Gia (Georgia Feinberg), he enjoys the thrill of risk that comes with hustling, and he frequently works alongside his best friend Dot.Com (Dorian Brockington), an aspiring singer who turns tricks while deciding what to do about his musical career. While Marcus and Dot.Com sometimes work as a team, they're more than just business partners, and offer one another trust and support in a dangerous trade. However, Marcus has personal problems that neither Dot.Com or Gia can help him with -- he frequently resorts to drugs to get through the day which has put him debt to several dealers, and one night he discovers a prospective customer is a figure from his past -- Henry (James Dowling), a former priest who sexually abused him when he was a boy. 25 Cent Preview was screened in competition at the 2007 San Francisco Independent Film Festival.
