Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The home video release JDM Option: 2005 D1 Grand Prix All Stars -- USA vs. Japan represents volume 23 in the JDM Option video-magazine series that covers "auto drifting" contests from around the globe. The program opens by bringing the most skilled and accomplished drifters from the United States and Japan to a head-to-head at Irwindale Speedway in California. It then segues into a meticulously planned and edited music video highlighting all of the drift drivers in that contest, introduced by Keiichi Tsuchiya, dubbed "The Drift King." During the program's brief, amusing intermission, "D1 Regular" Mana-P sits in the passenger seat alongside such drifters as Ken Gushi, Samuel Hubinette and Rod Millen, complaining loudly and forcefully about the out-of-control speed and trajectory of the vehicles.
