This program features footage and clips from comedies produced during the first century of moviemaking, such as It Happened One Night (1934), directed by Frank Capra and starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert; His Girl Friday (1940), directed by Howard Hawks and starring Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell; The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988), directed by David Zucker and starring Leslie Nielsen, George Kennedy, Priscilla Presley and O.J. Simpson; and many others. Other highlights include appearances by many Hollywood comedians from throughout the 20th century, including Bud Abbott, Lucille Ball, John Belushi, Jack Benny, John Candy, and Jim Carrey.
