Biography by AllMovie

Songwriter Wes Farrell was behind such 1960s hits as "Hang on Sloopy" (1965, his first), "Come on Down to My Boat," and "Come a Little Bit Closer." For film, he penned the theme for the U.S. release of the Japanese monster movie Gammera the Invincible (1965). Farrell's tunes can also be heard on reruns of the early '70s sitcom The Partridge Family. For this show, he not only wrote the theme but also many of the additional songs.
