University of Kansas City graduate Dee Wallace is best known for her role as Elliot's divorced mom in the box-office gold mine E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982). A former ballerina, Wallace had made her cinematic debut three years prior to E.T. with a minor role in 10 (1979). She co-starred in The Howling (1981) and Cujo (1983), with actor Christopher Stone, whom she married (hence her current professional name). Dee Wallace and Christopher Stone also shared top billing on the syndicated TV series The New Lassie (1989-1990).
