Simon Monjack began his Hollywood career with the 2000 film Two Days, Nine Lives, a drama that he wrote, produced, and directed. Monjack then went on to write and produce the 2006 Edie Sedgwick biopic Factory Girl, which starred Sienna Miller. Monjack was married to actress Brittany Murphy from 2007 until Murphy's death in 2009.
