British actor Craig Parkinson first gained critical and viewer attention with his effective portrayal of English music mogul Tony Wilson in director Anton Corbijn's Control (2007). The film -- a despairing, haunting biopic of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis (Sam Riley) -- brought audiences the second onscreen incarnation of Wilson, and Parkinson imparted a much-needed element of gravitas to it. He thus earned a healthy amount of critical praise.
