Award-winning composer Norbert Schneider has scored over 200 films and television productions. Some of his best-known scores are for Joseph Vilsmaier's Autumn Milk, Rama Dama (1991) -- for which Schneider won the Bavarian Film Prize -- Stalingrad, and Charlie & Louise. A former student of music, linguistics, musicology, and German, Schneider earned his doctorate in 1977 and, two years later, he was appointed a professor of musical theory at the Conservatory in Munich. In addition, he spent a decade lecturing for film music dramaturgy at Germany's Academy for Television & Film. A versatile teacher and musician, Schneider has penned numerous orchestral pieces, as well as those for chamber groups and organ. Outside of music, Schneider has also written many books on modern and film music, musical theory, and psychology.
