Tom Mix's leading lady in the mid-'10s, on and off the screen, Victoria Forde was a child actress with Margaret Illington, Maxine Elliott, and Chauncey Olcott before making her screen debut around 1911. After appearing with various Universal companies and a stint with Mack Sennett, Forde became Mix's leading lady in the summer of 1915. Her mother, Eugenie Forde, played supporting roles in Mix's Selig Westerns and for a while it seemed that she was destined to become the next Mrs. Mix. But Tom eventually chose the daughter, whom he married in 1918. Mix's fourth wife, Victoria retired immediately from films to raise their daughter Thomasina. The marriage lasted until 1931, after which the former Victoria Forde remained in obscurity until her death in July of 1964.
