French actress Madeleine Sologne, born Madeleine Vouillon, played leading roles in films of the '40s. In her heyday, Solgne was considered the epitome of modern beauty. She made her film debut in Jean Renoir's Life Is Ours (1940). She is perhaps most famous for playing Nathalie opposite Jean Marais in The Eternal Return (1943). In addition to her film work, Solgne frequently appeared on-stage. She retired from acting altogether in 1969.
