Biography by AllMovie

A star athlete and renowned member of the Los Angeles Rams during the 1960s, 6-foot-7-inch Lamar Lundy, was the most valuable player on both the football and basketball squads when he attended Purdue University. Drafted by pro teams in both sports, he went with the Rams where, for 13 years from the late '50s to the end of the '60s, he, Roosevelt Grier, Merlin Olsen, and Deacon Jones became sports legends. All four of them also ended up doing some acting, though Lundy's stint was more limited and stranger than those of the others. In 1964, he was persuaded to portray the snarling, 50-foot-tall, one-eyed, boulder-throwing giant confronting the Robinson family in the unaired pilot and what became episode four, "There Were Giants in the Earth," of Lost in Space.
