Stocky silent screen actor/director Leon De La Mothe became a fixture on poverty row in the 1920s, producing and directing Franklin Farnum Westerns for small-scale Canyon Pictures and playing villains in a host of other action melodramas, sometimes under the nome-de-cinema of Leon Kent. De La Mothe/Kent retired at the advent of sound and later spent his final years at the Motion Picture Country House and Hospital.
