Blonde silent screen actress Kathryn Adams came to films in 1915 after a brief and rather unsuccessful stint in musical comedy. Pigeon-holed as a vamp almost from the start, Adams co-starred in the 1915 Metro release The Shooting of Dan McGraw, from the poem by Robert W. Service; was Olivia Primrose in Thanhouser's 1917 version of the classic The Vicar of Wakefield; and played Millie Erne opposite William Farnum in the 1918 Riders of the Purple Sage. Adams drifted into supporting roles in the 1920s, and except for a brief appearance in the 1931 version of The Squaw Man, disappeared from films after 1925. A different Kathryn Adams played ingenues at Universal from 1939-1946.
