Joseph Holland spent most of his long, distinguished career on stage. A graduate of London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (class of 1934), Holland was a founding member, along with Orson Welles, of the Mercury Theater. Holland made one feature-film appearance in Rally 'round the Flag Boys (1958) opposite Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
