Better known in France as a stage actor and director,Jean Dasté has also appeared with distinction in a number of important films. He made his screen debut as a student in Jean Renoir's Boudu Saved From Drowning (1932) then played leads in two Jean Vigo films, Zero de Conduite and L'Atalante.
