One of the top stars in the National Basketball Association, Ray Allen gained strong critical praise for his performance in Spike Lee's 1998 hit He Got Game, in which he played the son of Denzel Washington's character. Subsequently nicknamed "Jesus" after his character in the film, Allen went on to play for such teams as the Milwaukee Bucks, the Seattle SuperSonics and the Boston Celtics. In 2001, he made sports headlines by painting his toenails green and purple during the NBA playoffs.
