The lithe and fair-haired dancer Julianne Hough achieved on-stage (and on-camera) recognition during the 2006-2007 TV season, as the female champion of the ABC reality program Dancing With the Stars. Her partner that season was speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno; Hough returned to the show the following season, partnered up with Brazilian racecar driver Helio Castroneves, and again won the competition. Eventually she spread her wings, leaving the comfortable nest of Dancing With the Stars in order to appear in movies like Burlesque, Footloose, and the hair-metal jukebox musical Rock of Ages.
