Biography by AllMovie

Boyishly handsome Raymond Hackett made quite a splash in films during the changeover to sound but his time in the sun proved strangely brief. The son of character actress Florence Hackett and a child actor on both stage (Michael to Maude Adams' famous Peter Pan) and screen in the early 1910s, Hackett came into his own as a young second lead during the late silent era when he appeared opposite the likes of Gloria Swanson, Colleen Moore, and Norma Shearer. The highlight of his screen career, however, came when he played the adult Raymond Floriot to Ruth Chatterton's Madame X in 1929. He married twice: to actress Myra Hampton, with whom he had a son, and to legendary silent screen star Blanche Sweet. The latter always spoke of him with great devotion and reportedly donated his corneas to someone in need so that "another person would be able to see the world through his eyes." Raymond Hackett was the brother of actor-writer Albert Hackett.
