On-stage since 1895, Gardner Crane toured vaudeville with his wife, Margaret, prior to enjoying a brief 1913-1914 screen career with the pioneering Thanhouser Company of New Rochelle, NY. He later appeared on Broadway in On Trial and other plays. Gardner Crane succumbed to a heart attack in Los Angeles in 1939.
