Biography by AllMovie

A beautiful blonde comedienne, long associated with the films of Charles Chaplin imitator Billy West, Ethlyn Gibson began her show business career as a Follies girl. By 1914, she was making West comedies for producer Louis Burston (a few of which still survive), staying with West through his days with Bulls Eye comedies. She later appeared in comedies starring puny Bobby Ray and hefty Oliver Hardy, all produced by Billy West, precursors of the kind of comedies Hardy would make with Stan Laurel. After a few Winnie Winkle comedies for the ultra low-budget Wess Bros., again produced by West, Gibson disappeared into private life.
