Donald Driver was primarily a playwright and stage actor, but he did write and direct one film, a humorous, racy psuedo-documentary adaptation of Desmond Morris' best-selling chronicle of the history of the human race, The Naked Ape in 1973. The film was panned by critics and has since become regarded as an oddity.

- Selected in the seventh round (213th overall) by Green Bay in the 1999 NFL Draft.

- Wrote a series of children's books based on a character named Quickie, which his mother used to call him because he was too fast to catch running around the house.
- Created the Donald Driver Foundation with his wife in 2001. The foundation offers assistance to ill children with unmanageable hospital bills, provides housing for the homeless and donates to other charities.
- Was the champion of season 14 of Dancing with the Stars.
