The eponymous William Mix produced a series of six silent Westerns released from 1924-1927 (but almost certainly filmed earlier than that), in which he also starred as Dick Carter. Pioneers of the West (released 1927) survives to reveal a youngish performer whose riding skills are right up there with Ken Maynard and Tom Mix. As Richard Carter, he did stunt duty for the latter, in the still extant Tony Runs Wild (1927), and may have appeared in Westerns as late as 1940.
