A native of Phoenix, Cindy Hensley McCain -- best known as the wife of Senator John McCain of Arizona -- grew up as an only child and attended Central High School and then the University of Southern California. Occupationally, Cindy took over proprietorship of an Anheuser-Busch distributorship started by her father in the mid-'50s, and ran it for decades; she married McCain in 1980 and had several children with him. Cindy McCain naturally drew greatest media attention during her husband's GOP candidacy in the 2008 presidential election.
