Biography by AllMovie

Moana Pozzi was among Italy's most popular and outspoken porn stars of the 1980s and early '90s. She was born Anna Moana Rosa Pozzi and raised in a middle-class Catholic Italian family. She entered the adult hardcore film industry at age 18. As articulate as she was blonde and voluptuous, Pozzi excelled at publicly defending her type of films and for this she was widely accepted. She often appeared in commercials. Pozzi occasionally landed roles in mainstream features, specializing in comedies such as Bruno Colella's Amami. In 1990, she started her own publishing company so she could write a complete and uncensored version of her life. The book's biggest selling point was the whiff of a scandalous affair with a former leader in the Socialist Party who was being tried for corruption. In 1993, Pozzi ran for national political office on the Love Party ticket. When that failed, she tried to become the mayor of Rome. Pozzi died of liver problems on September 15, 1994. She is said to have left her entire fortune to cancer research.
