Biography by AllMovie

With his songs recorded by the legendary likes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, and Bing Crosby, composer/lyricist Bobby Worth created tunes for some of the most prolific voices of his generation. Such familiar tunes as "Do I Worry?" and "The Same Old Song and Dance" had audiences humming and studios such as Disney courting Worth to pen songs for such Mouse House classics as Fun and Fancy Free (1947) and Melody Time (1948). A Cleveland native and child prodigy who began playing piano at age two, Worth was performing classical concerts by age ten and performing in Gus Edwards' vaudeville acts by the time he was a teenager. Relocating to Hollywood in 1940, Worth launched a successful career scoring films, teaming with Stanley Cowen the following year to pen the tune "Do I Worry?" for the Abbot and Costello comedy feature Pardon My Sarong (1942). On July 17, 2002, Bobby Worth died of natural causes in Mission Hills, CA. He was 89.
