Suave American comic actor Billy Quirk starred in a number of early silent comedies. He made his film debut in 1909 working opposite Mary Pickford in several D.W. Griffith films. He hit the apex of his popularity in 1915 and after that his bright star began to wane. He made an unsuccessful bid at directing and played small supporting roles until 1925. Quirk died one year later.
