Biography by AllMovie

Yet another Ziegfeld Follies dancer to try her luck in films, beautiful blonde Avonne Taylor signed with MGM in May 1927. That studio, however, lent her to the Mary Pickford Company for My Best Girl (1927), Pickford's final silent, in which Taylor played Charles "Buddy" Rogers' debutante fiancée. Although cool and collected, Taylor had as much chance of keeping her Prince Charming away from the indomitable Pickford as Jacqueline Gadsden had of preventing Antonio Moreno from falling for Clara Bow in the similar It (1927). Despite the success of My Best Girl, Taylor returned to Broadway and did not appear on screen again until 1931, when director Dorothy Arzner cast her as Fredric March's snobbish girlfriend in Honor Among Lovers (1931). It was apparently her final film.
