Marc Jean-Pierre Leaud is a young man who works at a local beauty shop and dreams of cars. When he "borrows" his boss's car for the evening, he is seduced by a wealthy woman before finding love with a younger woman nearer to his own age. Marc also dreams of being part of the affluent society he observes but which always seems to elude him.
