A stolid, man, much given to long silences, the lead in this story is a policeman (Liu Xiaoning) who is searching for a multiple murderer (Zhang Jianming) in this contemporary Chinese police thriller. Though they get close to the killer many times, despite the fact that they have the latest and most modern detection methods, in the end they must frequently fall back on older methods of searching and chasing. Even when the killer is on foot and he is being followed by a policeman on a motorcycle, he manages to elude his would-be captors.
