Synopsis by Tracie Cooper

Young Love follows the events revolving around a precocious but lonely 13-year-old's (Joonas Nordman) fixation on an unhappy young woman (Saija Lentonen) seven years his senior. When Johanna (Lentonen) finds out that Jukka (Nordman) has been spying on her by means of his estranged father's video camera, her initial fury fades after Jukka convinces her she could establish a career in modeling. Johanna, tough-as-nails and bitter after years of abuse from her stepfather, manages to take Jukka's advice. Unfortunately for Jukka, once Johanna is absorbed into the modeling world, he is left behind. The only advice he has comes from his no-nonsense gay art teacher (Pekka Lukka), who has much to say on the topic of homophobia, and what constitutes love in general. Young Love is Finnish writer/director Arto Lehkamo's third feature film.
