Morna is a music style from the island nation of Cape Verde which combines influences from West Africa, Brazil, and Portugal, and vocalist Césaria Évora is the undisputed Queen of Morna. World Music Portraits: Cesaria Evora is a documentary which looks at the singer's uphill climb to success, as she discusses the tragic history of her nation and her own struggles with poverty as well as performing a sampling of her best known songs, including "Belga," "Angola," and "Consedjo."
