This independently made feature is based on the novel by Charles T. Dazey. Evelyn Hunter (Marguerite Marsh) is a gambling addict. The debts she runs up at her bridge games upset her whole household: her husband, David (William Desmond), little daughter, Dora (Charlotte Naulting), and her sister, Ruth Gibson (Martha Mansfield). When Hunter pays a 10,000-dollar-debt of Evelyn's, he tells her it's the last time he will cover for her. Evelyn, on her behalf, promises that she will never see Stephen Dabney (Denton Vane) ever again. Dabney, however, convinces his friend, Moira Lamson (Evan Burrows Fontaine), to trick Evelyn into coming around the club. Evelyn, of course, can't resist "one more game," and when Hunter and Ruth come looking for her, they find her in Dabney's arms. Evelyn goes on the defensive and attacks Ruth so abusively that she leaves her sister's home to go work at a hospital. Evelyn then demands a divorce from Hunter. After reluctantly agreeing, he becomes infatuated with Moira. All this brings Evelyn to the verge of a nervous breakdown. Dabney leaves her in this fragile state, and Hunter and Ruth come to her aid. Evelyn recovers both her health and her senses. She is reunited with her husband and makes up with her sister.
