Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The United Auto Workers, which was at one point one of the most powerful unions in the United States, grew out of a series of auto plant strikes in Flint, Michigan in the 1930s. The women who participated in or supported participants in those strikes tell their story in this 1979 documentary. Archival footage from the period of the strike serves to illustrate the women's stories.
