Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
In this German film, imagery and storytelling overlap, as the life of a young, idealistic hippie is shown. David Heinemann stars as himself, which gives the film's fictional incidents an interesting edge. In one sequence, he accepts an invitation by a military man to come and experience the pleasures of a bordello. Unable to leave well-enough alone, he escapes with one of the house's "professional" women. As he journeys, he encounters certain vivid personalities in his contemporary German society. At some point, the film transforms into a fable in which David is journeying to the South Pole, a tale told during flashbacks.
