A rescued dachshund shows one family just how aerodynamic little dogs can be while racing for the top prize at the famed Weiner Dog Nationals Race. When a father (Jason London) and his young son (Julian Feder) adopted Shelly the dachshund, they never imagined they had were taking home a true champion. When Shelly manages to place at the Weiner Dog nationals state trials, however, they realize just how special their little runt is. Later, as the family keeps Shelley in shape for the next round, they uncover evidence that the reigning champion Ms. Merryweather (Morgan Fairchild) is cheating, and plead their case to sympathetic judge Melanie (Alicia Witt). Much to their shock, Melanie is banned from the competition for investigating the matter. Just when it looks as if Ms. Merryweather's prized dog Princess is poised to cross the finish line first, however, Shelly strives to win the race fair and square.
