Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This film concerns the last three days in the life of German poet and playwright Heinrich von Kleist. With his lover Henriette Vogel dying of cancer, the poet philosophizes about life and welcomes death at his own hands. Karl Dieter Briel has done his homework about von Kleist and incorporates his letters and poetry in his directorial debut. Heinrich and Henrietta eventually opt for double suicide as he expresses his romantic leanings about the ultimate demise.
