Synopsis by Sandra Brennan

This Egyptian film, shot in Alexandria, presents the benefits of exchanging the shackles of a conventional, successful life, for the spiritual freedom of poverty. Hussein, a meek accountant, is tired of his boring, repetitious life. After he suffers a succession of unearned degradations, he decides to chuck it all and literally run away from home. Stripped of all worldly goods and values, Hussein discovers the generosity of the common man. When four prostitutes are about to go to jail, Hussein immediately marries them all simultaneously. He divorces them with equal immediacy in favor of marrying his real love who performs with him in a street circus.
