Season eight of the ABC Afterschool Special series gets under way with this powerful dramatization of an all-too-common dilemma. For the past six years, teenager Alexandria "Alex" Benton (Melissa Sue Anderson) has lived happily with her foster family, who hopes to adopt her. Suddenly and unexpecedly, Alex comes face to face with her natural mother. Forced to choose between the family that has loved and cared for her and a woman she doesn't even remember, Alex's confusion quickly degenerates into anger and resentment. The Emmy-winning Which Mother Is Mine is also available in a 30-minute VHS version titled My Other Mother.
