Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This drama was based on the novel by Gouverneur Morris. Mining engineer Paul Grayson (Nigel Barrie) tries his hand at writing a play and comes up with something so good that a friend of his, a drama critic, suggests that he send it to theatrical producer McKay Hedden (William J. Kelly). Hedden likes the play, too -- in fact, he decides to steal it. After making a copy, he sends it back to Grayson with a rejection slip. He then proceeds to produce the purloined play with Silver Sands (Jane Grey) in the lead. Grayson, meanwhile, happens to meet and fall in love with Silver. His critic friend stops in to see the play in rehearsal and realizes what is going on. He wires Grayson that he is being had, and Grayson rushes to New York. Hedden is in the middle of trying to force himself on Silver when Grayson shows up. After a fist fight, Hedden agrees to give Grayson the credit he is due.
