Synopsis by Hal Erickson

The 3-reel drama When a Woman Loves was filmed in New York and New Jersey by Eclectic Pictures, the American branch of the Paris-based Pathe firm. The story opens as a young woman accepts the proposal of a much-older businessman. After their marriage, the honeymooning couple embark upon a golfing excursion with a twentysomething gentleman and his equally youthful fiancee. As the businessman searches for his lost ball, his young bride becomes enamored of her handsome golfing partner. At first, nothing comes of this, but as the businessman becomes more engrossed in his work, his bored wife finds herself drawing closer and closer to the "other man," much to the dismay of his jealous fiancee. This goes on and on until the operatic climax, wherein the wayward wife is led to believe that her reckless behavior has resulted in a double suicide. An otherwise laudable effort, When a Woman Loves was hampered by several glaring continuity gaps.
