Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Anticipating the much-later series Fluke, the British panel show Whatever Next? made extensive use of "candid" video tapes and wisecracking celebrities. On each episode, famous-name panelists watched pre-recorded tapes of ordinary people being asked questions by an interviewer, or asked to participate in a challenging stunt. It was up to the panel to determine whether the person on tape would answer correctly or accept the challenge. Hosted by Noel Edmonds, Whatever Next? was telecast in 1987.
